Barbara Steinberg

 

 

 

Barbara Steinberg studied at Yale University and at California University . She began her career as a painter, but then spent twenty years as a sculptor. After moving to London she continued to exhibit and receive commissions throughout the UK . Her solo shows include the Queens Hall Edinburgh, Phillips Gallery and the Allsop Gallery. She has also exhibited in a large number of group shows in London.

More recently Barbara's interest in landscape has drawn her back to painting. Initially her works were representational but over time they have evolved into a painterly abstract style that has the potency to depict not only the light and colour of a place but also seems to look further into another plane of legend, myth and dream. Barbara's recent works, that we are showing, are remarkable for their power and vibrancy.
