David Le Fleming
David Le Fleming was born in New Zealand and studied fine art there. He has lived and worked in the UK for over a decade. He prefers to paint on mainly metal surfaces and has produced many stunning works on a range of objects including vintage car bonnets, fridge doors and tin cans.
David Le Fleming
'i often approache subjects in a satirical manner; developing his central character(s) and narrating through their physical embodiments. The canvas too is key to my work, choosing to work with pre-existing objects such as car bonnets or fridge doors. Anything that is old fits the bill, but particularly objects with typography or defects are of interest to me. The character studies are usually contextually linked to these found objects, using their inherent qualities to provide the environment and influences in which the central character exists'.
